Opened in June 2005, Grooveyard was started to give Taichung another live music venue because there was a real shortage of places where bands creating original music could play, not only ex-patriot groups but also local Taiwanese acts as well. We are trying to encourage as many local musicians to come out and perform, not only at our Thursday night jam but also for full performances on a Friday or Saturday.     Our goal was to create a unique venue where a wide variety of bands creating original music could play. We have catered to foreign and Taiwanese bands alike and after reaching our second year in business, we feel that we have achieved everything we originally set out to do. We are now becoming more and more involved in booking international acts while still maintaining our initial ideology to support and give as much exposure to local music. We have a warm and intimate space with great sound and stage facilities.
